A new partnership with Dutch company Tebbernekkel

Fremantle Netherlands has joined forces with the young and fast-growing production house Tebbernekkel to acquire a minority stake in the company. Founded in 2016, Tebbernekkel is run by Achmed Akkabi, Quintin Baker and Blue ter Burg. The production house focuses on developing and producing fiction and reality for all relevant platforms and making commercials for major national and international clients.

Georgette Schlick, CEO Fremantle Netherlands & Belgium said: “Our drama label Fiction Valley has been working very pleasantly and successfully with Achmed Akkabi, the showrunner and protagonist of the successful Videoland series: Mocro Maffia. By making the collaboration structural, this gives us the opportunity to work even more intensively with Achmed while also developing and producing new ideas with Quintin and Blue in other areas, including reality and commercial content. By connecting with these successful, young and creative creators, we think we can respond even better to the needs of today’s VOD platforms. Their energy and different view of content creation brings a fantastic new vibe to our company.”

Achmed Akkabi, Tebbernekkel founder said: “With the expertise, support and experience of an important player such as Fremantle at our side, we cannot wait to roll out and realize all our ideas and international ambitions. We are very much looking forward to expanding the already close cooperation and to strengthen each other in a bright future.”
