Fremantle unveils line-up for MIPCOM


Fremantle is heading into MIPCOM with an incredible line-up of new programming. With a rich mix of must-see dramas, jaw-dropping documentaries, inspirational lifestyle shows and irresistible entertainment, Fremantle is bringing a huge amount of quality productions from the best creatives and talent in the business.


This market, Fremantle’s ever-growing catalogue includes a variety of compelling shows across all genres, including the ambitious new drama from the brilliant Gurinder Chadha, Beecham House and the gripping and authentic thriller from the creative team at Spiral Pictures, Taken Down. On the non-scripted side, there’s the epic adventure series of world-firsts, Expedition with Steve Backshall, the raw and chilling documentary series Manson: The Lost Tapes and the ultimate talent entertainment show, America’s Got Talent: The Champions, to name a few.

Created by Gurinder Chadha (Bend it Like Beckham, Viceroy’s House) and set in India on the cusp of the 19th century, Beecham House depicts the fortunes of the residents of Beecham House, an imposing mansion surrounded by acres of exotic woods and pristine lawns. Tom Bateman (Vanity Fair, Jekyll and Hyde) takes the role of enigmatic, soulful John Beecham, a handsome former soldier who has purchased the magnificent mansion, Beecham House, to begin a new life with his family.

From the creative team behind Love/Hate and directed by David Caffrey (Peaky Blinders), Taken Down centres on Detective Jen Rooney (Lynn Rafferty) who investigates the violent death of a young Nigerian migrant found abandoned close to a Direct Provision Centre, where refugees wait for political asylum. Her investigation brings us into a twilight world of the new Ireland where slum landlords and criminals prey on the vulnerable.

Based on Neil Gaiman’s epic tale of ancient and modern deities, American Gods series two picks up from the thrilling end of series one. Shadow and Mr. Wednesday continue their road trip across America on a mission to expunge the false trails, shallow diversions and media excesses of the modern world. Nothing is ever quite what it seems as Shadow’s every trial and misstep threatens to uncover darker secrets.

The Lost Tapes provides an exclusive new and unique insight into how Charles Manson assembled a group of young followers in a commune that would go on to commit the most infamous series of murders in U.S. history, which came to be seen across the world as the dark side to the hippie movement.
