BBC Worldwide and FremantleMedia Netherlands and Belgium today announced a new partnership to produce the best of BBC Worldwide’s general entertainment and non-scripted formats for the Benelux market.

BBC Worldwide’s multi-year deal production partnership with FremantleMedia Netherlands and Belgium grants the company the right to produce non-scripted formats in the Benelux region from BBC Worldwide’s entertainment catalogue. The production partnership includes current library and future non-scripted formats but will not affect any format deals which BBC Worldwide currently has in place.

Jacob de Boer, Global Commercial Director, Formats Production, BBC Worldwide said: “FremantleMedia Netherlands & Belgium are the obvious partner for us, they already successfully produce Great Bake Off in Netherlands for NPO1 and will be producing Dancing with the Stars as the show returns to Belgium after a six year hiatus with a new home on SBS. With our extensive format slate and their expertise, we look forward to bringing even more of BBC Worldwide’s great titles such as Generation Game and In Your Ear to Benelux audiences.”

Georgette Schlick, CEO FremantleMedia Netherlands & Belgium continues: “Great partnerships build great value. The BBC Worldwide catalogue is very well known, from successful factual reality series to big shiny floor entertainment shows. We believe that this catalogue, combined with FremantleMedia’s track record as leading international format creator, will lead to a wide range of high quality shows. A promising step forward in connecting worldwide creativity.”
