Fremantle and RTVE are bringing the music game show Hitster to Spain
From the greatest to the most current hits: would you know how to place them on a timeline? Fremantle and RTVE are collaborating on Hitster: el juego de los grandes éxitos - the Spanish adaptation of the popular board game HITSTER, from Jumbo Group. Since its launch in 2022, the board game has become a global success.
Two teams, made up of players from different generations, face each other to build a musical timeline by placing hit songs in chronological order according to the year of their release. The first team to correctly place ten tracks on their timeline will advance to the final, competing for a cash prize.
After being adapted for television, and becoming the most successful prime-time entertainment premiere on the German channel RTL in the last five years, the format continues its international expansion - with local adaptations already confirmed in the Netherlands and Canada. Produced by Fremantle in collaboration with RTVE, this new family music competition will be filmed at the Sant Cugat production centre.
Hitster: el juego de los grandes éxitos is designed to create shared reactions, moments full of joy and a festive and participatory atmosphere. It will combine legacy and contemporary music, some presented with exciting performances. It's a new program that will connect the whole family through a passion for music and nostalgia.
Fremantle Netherlands and NewBe are producing Hitster alongside RTVE, together with Jumbo Group. Fremantle handles international production and distribution.
