Ganesh Rajaram promoted to CEO Asia and Latin America

Today we announce two senior promotions in our management team in Asia.

Ganesh Rajaram has been appointed CEO Asia and Latin America, effective 1 January 2023. In this newly created role, reporting to Group CEO Jennifer Mullin, Ganesh will oversee all aspects of our production businesses in Asia and Latin America, with local Managing Directors of India, Indonesia and Mexico reporting directly to him. Ganesh will continue to be based in Singapore.

Ganesh joined Fremantle in 2005 and over the last 17 years has been instrumental in delivering Fremantle’s growth and commercial success in Asia. Under his leadership, Fremantle’s most well-known and well-loved formats including America’s Got Talent, American Idol and The X Factor UK have found new audiences on pan-regional broadcasters including Fox and Sony in the region. Ganesh has also spearheaded deals to place a number of Fremantle’s scripted shows in the region, including American Gods to Youku in China and Beecham House to Netflix India.

Simultaneously, Haryaty Rahman has been promoted to EVP Sales, Asia effective immediately. In this expanded senior role, replacing Ganesh, she will drive our distribution strategy in the region partnering with local broadcasters and platforms to place Fremantle’s formats and content across Asia. Based in Singapore, Haryaty will report to Jens Richter.

Joining Fremantle in 2010, Haryaty has been a driving force in the region, most notably placing My Brilliant Friend: The Story of a New Name to an audience of over 250 million in China. This deal (selling to iQIYI, Youku (Alibaba) and Tencent Video) marked the first time that a non-English language European drama has sold simultaneously to three platforms simultaneously.
