Today we announce that the gripping spy thriller and family drama No Man’s Land has been renewed for a second season and have added season regulars Mélanie Thierry (La Princesse De Montpensier) as Anna / Shamaran, Souheila Yacoub (Dune 2) as Sarya, James Krishna Floyd (My Brother The Devil) as Nasser, Dean Ridge (Vikings) as Paul.
Featuring a stellar international cast, season two will also comprise of new cast members Leo Hatton (Rate Me) and Zed Josef (The Disguise).
Principle photography began yesterday in Morocco.
Commissioned by ARTE and Hulu, and produced by Haut et Court TV, Masha and Spiro Films in co-production with Fremantle, this exciting multi-layered thriller, set in the aftermath of the Iraq war, is about a female freedom fighter group in Syria and the portrayal of radicalised westerners who join ISIS. Season one followed a young French man named Antoine, who grieves the death of his sister after she died in a terrorist bombing years prior.
No Man’s Land enjoyed an incredible reception globally with millions of viewers across 114 territories and won Best Non-English Language Drama Series at the C21 Awards in 2021. The second season will take a unique look into the situation in Syria and the Middle East through a very human story and strong, relatable characters, portraying the unique world of Kurdish fighters and is set to combine heart-racing espionage action with deep emotional drama.
Created by Masha’s María Feldman and Spiro’s Eitan Mansuri, No Man’s Land is written by Amit Cohen (False Flag) and Ron Leshem (Euphoria), and co-produced by Fremantle, who will distribute internationally.
Season two is produced by Feldman for Masha, Mansuri and Jonathan Doweck for Spiro Films, Caroline Benjo, Simon Arnal and Carole Scotta for Haut et Court TV, and co-produced by ARTE France. Fremantle’s Christian Vesper will also co-produce. Lionsgate+ (formally Starzplay UK)
and OSN, will also renew for season two.
