TV 2’s new series The Investigation based on the people working to solve the 2017 murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, has become the highest-rated new crime drama launch of the year in Denmark.
Produced by Fremantle’s Miso Film, episode one of The Investigation was watched by 748,000 linear viewers (42% share) over the 8PM slot, exceeding TV 2’s prime time average by +43% to make it the biggest new crime drama of 2020.
The opening episode was also the #1 show in its prime-time slot and #1 show of the day across all demographics, with 46% share among 20-60 year old viewers.
This authentically and sensitively created series, written and directed by the Oscar-nominated Tobias Lindholm (Mindhunter, Borgen), follows the complex investigation carried out by Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide for the Copenhagen Police, surrounding the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall. Played by Søren Malling (A Hijacking, Borgen), Møller is at the show’s centre, leading viewers through the complex jigsaw he and his team must piece together, to provide prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen (Game of Thrones’ Pilou Asbæk) with the evidence he needs to secure a guilty verdict against the murder suspect.
