Youth-culture podcast, This Is Spoke returns for a second season following the launch of a successful first season in 2018. The introductory episode will be released on Monday 16th September. This winter, Spoke will be championing today’s most important issues, with 12 thought-provoking, weekly instalments.
Rooting from an internal, initiative championing innovation and collaboration between colleagues across divisions of the international media company, Bertelsmann – Penguin Random House UK, Fremantle and BMG have reunited using their shared experience across content, digital, publishing, broadcasting, music and education; to create audio and social interactions, connecting Generation Z and Millennial listeners with some of the UK’s most courageous, cultural influencers.
This season’s podcast is hosted by West London MC, Big Zuu and award-winning filmmaker & journalist, Fenn O’ Meally. The electrifying synergy between them exudes their combined passion for young people along with the strong urgency to communicate honest and true stories (uncensored real talk) with the aim to impact lives and make a difference. A young and fresh dynamic duo pave the way for generations to come.
The fluorescent fusion of talent, formally known as guests featured each week include presenters & comedian, Poet & Snoochie Shy, Sideman, Remel London and Ben Hunte, authors Chelsea Kwakye & Ore Ogunbiyi, plus musicians, Joy Crookes, S1 and Novelist and many more. Each episode aims to be captivating, unapologetic, some rather amusing and authentic; tackling topics ranging from whether students should go to University or straight into the working world to the ‘uncomfortable’ conversations about money (whispers) to what makes a community and LGBTQI. With these themes just scratching the surface of discussion, This is Spoke was ignited to provoke and encourage debate amongst young people aged 17 to 24 – on some of the most meaningful and contemporary issues influencing their lives, empowering them to join in and speak out. These conversations are imperative for future generations as doors are now being opened with less boundaries than ever before. The time to be outspoken is now!
A podcast perfect for your weekly commute to educational spaces, work or the sincere pleasure of hearing relatable stories that sparks positive change for the future.
